“It’s only water!”

Many (most?) couples worry about how the weather will turn out on their wedding day, as if it was going to make a big difference to their enjoyment of the day.

Having filmed hundreds of weddings in all extremes of weather, here’s my take on it: the weather is almost completely irrelevant to how much you’ll enjoy your day – if that’s what you’ve decided beforehand. If you go into it with a great attitude, it really doesn’t matter if it’s raining or sweltering, you’re going to love every minute of it because that’s what you’ve decided to do (a bit like life in general, actually!).

Here’s a great example – April was one of the most excited, chatty and happy brides I’ve ever filmed, and a bit of rain wasn’t going to stop her and Ross having a ball. Here they are, out and about in the city for their photos with Lucy Best, who refreshingly was happy to have the photographs look like they were taken in Melbourne (as opposed to Paris, Rome, etc).

The other great tip from this video is – remember to keep your energy up with some well-timed coffee and snacks… or take-away even, if that’s your thing!
