What an epic day, in every possible way! Part of the emotional intensity no doubt was caused by Kylie and David’s 7 day separation before the wedding – but the fun they had is all down to their and the bridal party’s personalities. The wedding took place in the beautiful Melbourne Hebrew Congregation, in Toorak Rd – and its grand interior made a perfect backdrop for the beautiful ceremony. As many photography locations as possible were squeezed in, then it was off to the Sandringham Yacht Club – first, more photos on Kylie’s grandfather’s yacht – then the party!
We found it impossible to condense all the footage into our usual highlights shape – so we just gave up on that and went with the flow of the events. And what a roller-coaster of a day it was, as you’ll see! The dramatic music at the end is from the closing moments of a song off the ‘Moulin Rouge’ soundtrack that Kylie and David were keen for us to use – we struggled to make it work with the rest of the footage but suddenly it found its place to bring the whole clip to a fittingly emotional (and hopefully funny) climax!
Photography by the hard-working Shaun of ImageEight (www.imageeight.com.au), and the awesome band keeping everyone on their feet was “Reflections of..”. Shaun and I first met Kylie when she was wedding coordinator at Red Scooter (the visually-striking venue in St Kilda where we’ve filmed a number of weddings) – it’s always wonderful when someone in the industry chooses you to share in their day as they’ve experienced a wide range of options!
