Van and Chris warned me there might be a few ‘fireworks’ on the day (not the pyrotechnic kind) but even with the non-stop action of two different ceremonies and hundreds of photos to get taken, the mood stayed excitable and exuberant. Chris’ parents were married in the same location many years ago, so it must have been very special for them to see the next generation following in their footsteps. On Van’s side, many Vietnamese traditions were honoured, from the presentation of gifts and a tea ceremony, to the spectacular start of the reception. In the midst of all the busy-ness, Van and Chris’ shared sense of humour shone through, never less so than in the vows which were both heartfelt and very playful.
